2015’s comedy drama Piku set to re-release on this date: The dynamic trio Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and late Irrfan Khan, crucially featuring in the critically acclaimed 2015 comedy-drama “Piku”, was released in the cinemas on 8 May, under the banners of MSM Motion Pictures, Saraswati Entertainment, and Rising Sun Films. On Saturday, 19th April, Deepika Padukone took to the Instagram handle and shared a video clip with the emotional caption and wrote: “A film that will always have my heart – PIKU is back in theatres on 9th May, 2025 to celebrate its 10th Anniversary! Irrfan, we miss you! And think about you every so often…”
In the video clip, including the old glimpse, also featuring the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, who refreshes us about the unpredictable and unforgettable journey, packed with emotions, laughter and tensions.

The Hindi entertaining drama film was directed by Shoojit Sircar, the plot was penned by Juhi Chaturvedi, and it was financed by N.P. Singh, Ronnie Lahiri, and Sneha Rajani. It revolves around Delhi’s a strong, independent architect lady Piku Banerjee (played by Deepika Padukone) and her 70-year-old eccentric father, Bhashkor Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan), who decide to travel to their ancestral home in Kolkata. What happens next is worth watching. Stars are teamed up with the film, including the lead trio, Moushumi Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta and Raghubir Yadav in supporting roles.
