Thrash Film Review (2026): Phoebe Dynevor’s American survival thriller film “Thrash” is an action-packed thriller that mixes the terror of sharks with floodwaters and a Category 5 hurricane. Directed by Tommy Wirkola, the movie revolves around action and not storytelling. Coming out straight to stream without its planned theatrical release, Thrash tries to entertain audiences with chaos, quick pace, and survival situations.

Thrash Plot
Taking place in a flooded South Carolina, the movie follows Lisa (Phoebe Dynevor), who finds herself in trouble when her community experiences Hurricane Henry. Failing in their attempt to evacuate, people start seeing bull sharks swimming in the now underwater streets.
Along with Lisa, the film also introduces us to Dakota (Whitney Peak), a troubled teen. Both of them try to escape the rising flood water and keep away from sharks. Uncle Dale (Djimon Hounsou) is a marine biologist whom Lisa meets, and he tries to stay safe using his motorboat. There is no complexity involved, and all we have to do is survive.
Cast Performance
Acting is one of the positive features of Thrash. Phoebe Dynevor does an excellent job playing a determined and brave pregnant woman who experiences fear and anxiety. Whitney Peak adds to the film with her character’s fearfulness and loneliness.
Djimon Hounsou‘s presence makes the film seem more balanced because he can play a very authoritative character. Despite the weak script, the cast manages to keep it together through their impressive acting.
