Karuppu Makers Remove Ilaiyaraaja Reference: The makers of Tamil fantasy action drama “Karuppu“, headlined by Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, have reportedly removed a satirical dialogue which references iconic composer Ilaiyaraaja. Makers confirmed this modification through a gesticulated official note. The film hit the theatres on May 15, 2026, under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures. Amid the sensational theatrical run, the latest development has quickly grabbed attention on social media.

On Tuesday, May 19, production house Dream Warrior Pictures officially issued a special statement for a particular dialogue appearing in Karuppu, which upset the legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja and his copyright-related legal stance.

With this the makers show respect and write that “There was absolutely no intention to offend, hurt, or disrespect Mr. Ilaiyaraaja, his contribution, or his rights in any manner.” They also added that they “deeply value and respect his feelings and, as a gesture of our regard, we have decided to remove or modify the concerned portion in future versions and subsequent exploitations of the film.”
