Jailer 2 First X Review: The Rajini day has finally arrived! As Nelson Dilipkumar directed the high-octane film “Jailer 2“, starring Rajinikanth, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, and others, it hits theatres worldwide today, on October 15, 2026, under the banner of Sun Pictures. The film serves as the sequel to 2023’s acclaimed film Jailer. As Rajinikanth reclaims his throne in Jailer 2, the very first reactions of moviegoers are out on X (formerly Twitter), which are mostly positive.

The film is also starring the big names S. J. Suryah, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vidya Balan, Anna Rajan, and Jatin Sarna. Vijay Kartik Kannan handled the cinematography of the film, which was edited by R. Nirmal and music composed by the dynamic Anirudh Ravichander.

#Jailer2 A Familiar Commercial Entertainer With a Solid 1st Half but an Underwhelming 2nd Half!

First half works mainly because of Nelson’s trademark comedy, a few solid Superstar elevation scenes, and Anirudh’s BGM. But the writing gets weaker as it goes on, with the SJ Suryah and Vidya Balan villain tracks feeling tiring and impactless, while the film moves away from the entertainment that works best….

#Jailer2 ~ A mixed bag that starts on a promising note but loses its way in the second half. The first half offers entertaining moments, good comedy, and some effective mass elevations. Rajinikanth Rocks with his unmatched aura and screen presence, carrying several moments effortlessly. However, the dull screenplay and forced emotional portions in the second half pull the film down. The cameos feel forced and fail to make the expected impact, while Anirudh’s music remains a major plus especially background scores. Overall, an AVERAGE outing that falls well short of Jailer Part 1.

#Jailer2 – 3.75 stars. A highly entertaining sequel that has enough tricks (cameos) in its armour to deliver highs at regular intervals to keep the film buzzing. Thanks to the smart and effective use of comedy which continues to be Nelson’s big strength and something that comes naturally to him, the film never gets boring. The second half does dip a little, but the use of star cameos and a few surprises ensures the film never loses steam, right until the last shot.
