Ranabaali Twitter Review
#Ranabaali Honest Intentions, Patience Testing Execution! Rating: 2/5
The director sincerely tries to tell real stories/events set against a beaten to death British backdrop, but the dead slow screenplay and flat narration test your patience. VD-Rashmika’s portions provide some relief and are the film’s main highlight, but the film lacks the emotional connect a subject like this needs and feels lifeless and tiring for long stretches.
Production values and set design stand out. VD’s effort is visible and he gives a sincere performance, though his characterization and histrionics feel odd at times. BGM is a huge letdown, and the film badly needs trimming. Sincere effort, but a strictly boring watch.
#Ranabaali Review: History Without Heart
A film rooted in heart-wrenching stories is let down by poor execution. Apart from a few emotional moments, it doesn’t do justice to those who suffered under British rule. You feel for what people went through back then, but the film doesn’t make you feel it on screen.
Production design and set pieces look perfect/authentic and the effort is sincere, but the lifeless storytelling makes this a long, boring watch. The film badly needs trimming.
M9 Rating: 2/5
#Ranabaali has its moments, but it’s a passable 1st half overall.
Director Rahul handles the drama well, but both the buildup to the action sequences and their execution leave a lot to be desired.
The VD-Rashmika portions are easily the highlight so far. That entire chapter is beautifully executed!
#RanabaaliReview: #Ranabaali has a promising setup, but the execution feels underwhelming. Despite having plenty of backstory to explore, the film sticks to a predictable rebellion narrative. The slow pacing isn’t the issue; it’s the lack of emotional impact despite the suffering shown.
The second half becomes increasingly repetitive, with back-and-forth attacks and torture sequences replacing meaningful story progression. The action feels outdated, and even the major elevation scenes fall flat due to weak execution…
Ranabaali Review: A Strong Story, but Slow – Paced Narration Ranabaali has a very strong storyline, based on the life of a forgotten warrior from Rayalaseema who rebelled against British rule. The film effectively portrays the famine conditions of those days, the exploitation and oppression of poor people by the British, and how their suffering eventually led to rebellion….
#Ranabaali – Review
Decent 1st half
dragged 2nd half
Cinema had the potential to be a solid period drama, but the execution could’ve been much better.
A Crisp screenplay would’ve made a huge difference.
