Ghoomer Movie Plot
The movie is about a female cricketer Anina (Saiyami Kher), who is sensational and a good batsman as well. She is getting ready to play for India, but suddenly, in a major car accident, she lost her right hand.
When she found out this incident had happened to her, she thought, Now she doesn’t have any reason to live, but because she cannot play cricket anymore, Paddy (Abhishek Bachchan) brings her back to life and motivates her that if you have the guts to play, you can play with one hand too. Before, she was a good batsman, and after losing her right hand and becoming a left-handed bowler, she will survive to play for Team India.

Anina (Saiyami Kher), an aspiring women cricketer, eagerly waited for the day when she would play for India, and one day finally arrived that special day in her life, being selected in the Indian team. During the moment, she beats a few guys as punishment for eve-teasing the female cricketers.
She comes into contact with a drunkard, Padam Singh Sodhi, aka Paddy (Abhishek Bachchan), who failed in his cricket career, and his failures circle through his many things. In a sudden accident, Anina lost her Phantom limb, which was her strongest appliance to play cricket. After losing the hand, she became depressed and didn’t want to live; after that, Paddy boosted her will to play singlehandedly, as the makers show in this film.
Saiyami Kher played well with her character, and after a long time, Abhishek Bachchan is back with a notable performance, but Shabana Azmi’s character was not that impactful. If we talk about the script by Roger R. Balki and co-writers Rahul Sengupta and Rishi Virmani, they picked a fantastic idea, which is really inspiring, but the script for most of the part is not focusing on the principal character but focusing on the character of Padam Singh Sodhi, aka Paddy (Abhishek Bachchan), and his journey.
Baap of Movies Review
Overall, director and writer R Balki offer us a decent sports drama, but Abhishek Bachchan’s performance as failed cricketer Padam Singh Sodhi was outstanding; for the first time, Abhishek played that kind of character. Amit Trivedi’s track is quite good, but the sports drama is unable to focus on the crucial point of the film.
