The versatile Chiyaan Vikram portrays the titular role in the film, despite the fact that Malavika Mohanan, Pasupathy, Daniel Caltagirone, Hari Krishnan Anbudurai, Vettai Muthukumar, Arjun Anbudan, and Sampath Ram appear in the important roles. The Chiyaan Vikram-fronted, 2.10-minute-long Thangalaan trailer is loaded with plenty of action-packed drama. It unfolds a short glimpse of a group of tribals, led by Vikram’s character, fighting against the British for existence. One of the British personnel, Lord Clement, arrived in their village in the name of seeking their service. He knew well that to create the origins of the Kolar Gold Fields, the British Empire needed to hire these tribes, who could easily extract gold without any challenges. But the way of extracting gold became trouble after the tribal group came to realize the presence of a spirit sorcerer there, called Aarathi (Malavika Mohanan).
