Including the leads, Appani Sarath, Sreerekha, Kotravai, Regin Rose, and others also teamed up with the film. It is a bilingual production, which contains both the Tamil and Malayalam dialogues, as it is based on Tamil Nadu & Kerala border conflicts.

Shakthivel-helmed and penned Malayalam suspenseful action film, after 24 days of box office run, started streaming from 17th January 2025 on Amazon Prime Video in Tamil, with a runtime of 127 minutes (2 hours and 7 minutes). It was received with an 8.9 rating on the reputed news portal IMDb, based on 450 individual reviews.
Alangu follows the real-life incident that erupted between Malayali political groups and Tamil tribal youths, which occurred on the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, due to pressing circumstances. Interestingly, the writer added a link to a specific dog’s breed, Chola emperor Raja’s Great War dogs, adding another historical flavor to the story.
