Ae Watan Mere Watan Plot
The plot revolves around a young college girl Usha Mehta (Sara Ali Khan), a devotee of Mahatma Gandhi, who is staying with his father Hariprasad Mehta (Sachin Khedekar), professionally a British judge, not supporting his daughter to contribute to the freedom of Nation. In the year 1942 Mahatma Gandhi’s Quit India movement received immense responses from India, due to the movement the leaders were imprisoned, and the Media went to the British controller.
In this movement, Radio became the only medium to unite the country against the British. Usha realized this, and started a secret underground radio station by the name of ‘Congress Radio‘ with her friends, to spread the unity message to entire the country, within a very short time, the radio station got sensational attention from the country, which also attracts the uncaught pre-independence leader Ram Manohar Lohia (Emraan Hashmi). How the radio station received a humungous reach across the country, and developed a strong unity message to entire the country, which delivered a strong way for the country to take over freedom.

Kannan Iyer’s direction is well executed, and the lead Sara Ali Khan Shines as the freedom Fighter Usha Mehta, day by day she becomes a versatile face in the Bollywood Industry, side by side with Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Verma, Kaushik, as Usha’s love interest, and the other casts are delivered a notable performance in the film. Darab Farooqui and Kannan Iyer’s writing shows well how Usha and her friends face the challenge of running the Congress Radio, and how it became the interest of the nation, followed by Amalendu Chaudhary’s cinematography s well crafted.
