The production house 14 Reels Plus officially issued an apology statement expressing their regret over this unforeseen situation but did not disclose the reason behind this delay. 14 Reels Plus Issues Official Apology Statement
On 5th December, production house 14 Reels Plus officially took to the X (formerly Twitter) handle and shared their regret related to this sudden decision. The caption of the post read:
We’ve tried our absolute best to bring #Akhanda2 to the big screens, but despite our tireless efforts, sometimes, the most unexpected things happen, and unfortunately, this is that time.
We sincerely apologize to all the fans and cinema lovers across the world who have been eagerly waiting for the film with so much anticipation.
We are forever grateful to our dearest ‘God of Masses’ #NandamuriBalakrishna Garu and #BoyapatiSreenu Garu for standing by us during this challenging moment.

Reason behind Akhanda 2 Postponed
As per the early report on premiere day, 4th December, all the overseas premiere shows had been cancelled because KDMs had not been issued. Alongside, the production house faces hurdles of multiple financial issues. The Venky Box Office reported that “all past debts have finally caught up with the production. The amount owed is more than what is being circulated on social media.“
The reputed market tracker also reported on 5th December, from when the film set for full-fledged release, “#Akhanda2 Even if the issues miraculously clear today, an overseas release this weekend is not possible.
Theatres have already pulled the plug and allocated all available screens to Hollywood titles. It would be a blunder to release in India without overseas.“
Akhanda 2 Expected release date
As per the latest industry buzz, Akhanda 2 is expected to arrive in theatres in 2025, with the strong possibility on the 25th of December. A Christmas Day release would give the film a major boost at the box office, benefiting from the Christmas Eve holiday, and it will also get another holiday, New Year’s Eve.
