Andhera Web Series Plot: Starts Strong but Fizzles Out
The Andhera review begins with Bani Baruah, who is a 24-year-old bipolar patient. Bani experiences an unseen force and later gets possessed by a spirit of darkness. Now, Jay (Karanvir Malhotra), who is a medical student, mysteriously sees this incident in his visions. He investigates the scene, and his curiosity leads him to Rumi (Prajakta Koli). Rumi is a YouTuber who runs “Unseen Supernatural Club”, and her content is focused on paranormal activities.
As they investigate, the Mumbai Police also come into the setup. The start of Andhera focuses heavily on setup. But, as we move ahead to episode five, the series jumps into a fast-paced yet predictable conclusion. The central mystery, which was whether Andhera is myth or reality, sadly fails to surprise by the end.
Andhera Season 1 Review: Writing and Direction – Predictability Over Fear
One of the major reasons why the Andhera review is not positive is because of the writing. The show has six credited writers, but the originality or something out of the box is missing. The horror clichés have empty swings, sudden creepy appearances, and shadowy figures, and it feels too familiar. The overuse of Stranger Things-style visuals, such as dark veins and shadow monsters, makes the show seem derivative.
Raaghav Dar fails to make his mark; he is unable to sustain tension, especially in the first half. The slow pacing and over-explained backstories test the audience’s patience at the start, and it spoils the party for Andhera.
Cast Performances – A Few Highlights Amid the Darkness
In this Andhera review, the acting performances are a mixed bag. Karanvir Malhotra was a huge disappointment, though he did a decent job, but that spirit was missing. Prajakta Koli was given the role according to her YouTube persona; hence, she had not offered anything new.
Vatsal Seth is probably the only saviour of Andhera. He worked as an antagonist; however, limited screen time makes his character feel incomplete. Surveen Chawla’s role as Ayesha also feels unconvincing. The standout is Priya Bapat, as she brings a commanding presence to every scene she’s in, and she is safely the most engaging part of the series.

Technical Aspects – Atmosphere Without Impact
The production quality of Andhera is insane; however, the visual effects and sound design fail to elevate the horror. The series attempts to create an eerie atmosphere, but it fails because it doesn’t have any truly original scares, and it never fully immerses the audience. The editing also feels uneven; one can notice that certain scenes are dragging unnecessarily while important revelations are rushed.
