Avatar: Fire and Ash box office collection day 1 in India: The third installment in the Avatar franchise, “Avatar: Fire and Ash“, directed and co-written by James Cameron, has finally ended the long wait and arrived in India and worldwide theatres on 19th December, 2025, under the banner of Lightstorm Entertainment. As per the latest report, the film failed to attend the pre-release projection and earned only Rs 19 Cr net in India, impacted by the epic spy thriller Dhurandhar‘s majestic box office journey.

According to the latest box office update by the Indian industry tracker Sacnilk.com, James Cameron’s magnum opus Avatar: Fire and Ash kicked off its Indian box office journey with a notable Rs 19 Cr net in India, which is a huge 52.85% lower than the prequel Avatar: The Way of Water’s (2022) opening day score of a humongous Rs 40.3 Cr net.
Notably, Avatar: Fire and Ash’s opening day score fueled by the English version figure of Rs 8.5 Cr, the Hindi version Rs 5.25 Cr, the Telugu version Rs 2.75 Cr, the Tamil Rs 2.43 Cr, the Kannada Rs 5 Lakh, and the Malayalam version figure of Rs 2 Lakh.

Avatar 3 has the potential to see a strong turnaround from the second day of the weekend. If the film saw a round 50% or higher surge from Saturday, the weekend Indian total net score could land in the range of Rs 80-90 Cr net. As per the reputed news portal Variety report, the Avatar: Fire and Ash movie was made with a huge budget of $400+ million (Rs 3583 Cr).
