BadNewz album and trailer had raised expectations but the final output of the film remains underwhelming. Why? Let’s find out.
The film starts off well and has sub-plots which drives the film but the silly, immature moments in the film fail to be convincing. The comedy is so forced that even the emotional moments [in the first half] tend to be funny.
This rating is heavily driven by the pregnancy fragment [of the second half] and Vicky Kaushal’s performance. He does try rising above the script and he does that, which again proves his versatility.
In simple words, only the second half looks logical that too not entirely. The story is good and had ample scope but the treatment went wrong which makes it a cringe-fest.
The ‘kuch bhi ho raha’ moments could’ve been trimmed and those were irrelevant and meaningless and play ‘road block’ in the progress. The film is nowhere close to Akshay Kumar, Diljit & Kareena’s Good Newzz, which was terrific and had genuine sense of humour.
The issue here is that the jokes do not land and the nature is monotonous despite lavish mounting. A film can be bad but delivering entertainment must be its priority but unfortunately here, that’s there in very limited form.
Few fragments feel irritating and it doesn’t end like a feel good film because something seems wrong. A better climax could’ve changed the final output of the film for the good.
Lastly, the main humour is already present in the trailer which keeps your expectations high but the main film has everything that’s not on that level, that is a major problem.
