Bad Newz First Critics Review: Anand Tiwari directed the Hindi comedy-drama film “Bad Newz,” slated to make its grand debut on the big screen tomorrow, June 19. Fans are eagerly waiting to experience the first collaboration of the triangle of Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri, and Ammy Virk. On July 18th (Thursday), the critics shared their first reviews on Twitter. Initially, it received mixed reviews from film critics, while Taran Adarsh gave it a rating of 4 out of 5. The film was backed by Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Amritpal Singh Bindra, and Anand Tiwari and was set to release under the banners Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Amazon Prime. Including the leads, Neha Dhupia, Karan Aujla, Tarun Dudeja, and Ananya Panday (cameo appearance) will appear in the film.

Director #AnandTiwari chooses a plot that may seem ludicrous, but the smart and riveting screenwriting keeps you hooked most of the time… #Anand also ensures that the comic moments and jokes land well, the writing doesn’t meander into unwanted tracks and the culmination is appropriate.
#VickyKaushal is terrific, shines in emotional sequences, pulls off his character with élan. #BadNewz is sure to multiply his fan-following by leaps and bounds… #TriptiiDimri sparkles. She looks fantastic, balances the light and emotional portions beautifully and adds the much-needed glamour quotient to the proceedings.
#AmmyVirk is winsome. His timing in comic sequences, in particular, is super. Even otherwise, he adds credibility to his character… #NehaDhupia and #SheebaChaddha are underutilized, had potential to enhance the proceedings if given more prominence.
#BadNewz has not one or two, but three chartbusters – #TaubaTauba, #MereMehboobMereSanam and #Jaanam – that add immense value to the proceedings.
Any shortcomings? Yes, a few moments in the first half could’ve been sharper… Also, the narrative could’ve done without a few characters.
Final word? #BadNewz is a full-on entertainer that wins you over.
Entertainment Without Substance. #BadNewz is Good Time-Pass with Few Laughs.

The expectations we build after ‘Bad Newz’ trailer is definitely not fulfilled. As, the writer #TarunDudeja and #IshitaMoitra take the route to write scenes of forced laughter with creating unrealistic dramatic situations.
Director #AnandTiwari shown the best moments of film in the trailer and different teasers. And, after watched it several times in different reels on your timeline, you simply can’t laughter again on the same jokes.
The story is what you have seen in the trailer a beautiful chef ‘Saloni Bagga’, who’s biggest dream to win THE Chef’s Biggest Award.
But after few set-backs in love and life, she falls in a one-in-a-billion situation of Heteropaternal Superfecundation… where Saloni finds out that she is pregnant with twins from two different fathers – Akhil Chadha and Gubrir Pannu.
This leads to the two fathers competing with each other to win Saloni’s love.
Now Drama of Families, Medical Complications and Predictable Emotions…film’s runs on the track of Glamour, Never Before Seen ‘Mussoorie’ locations and ‘Fascinationg’ Doctor’s Advice…which is Totally Unrecommend.
The Only Good Thing About the Movie is Actor Performances. #VickyKaushal as Akhil Chadha is just Brilliant. His comic timing, expressions, dance and emotional sequences makes you sit in the theater.
#TriptiiDimri looks beautiful, she is good at emotional scenes. But, we have seen her best before.
#AmmyVirk as Gurbir Pannu is very good. You fall in love with this Good Boy.
The final credit song #TaubaTauba is the only track, which you remember after leaving theatres. #MereMehboob wasted as background score.
You can watch the Once. But leave your expections outside the theater.

Despite some pacing issues in the first half, the well-written script and fast-paced screenplay in the second half keep the audience engaged.
#VickyKaushal steals the show with his flawless dialogue delivery and Delhi Punjabi accent. #TriptiDimiri looks gorgeous and delivers a fair performance, while Ammy Virk brings an innocent charm and excels in his role.
Overall, Bad Newz is a good entertainer made for multiplex audiences with the potential to become a hit at the box office.
