Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas Story
Through Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas, Akshay Shere takes us to the blend of real-life horror with cinematic storytelling. The movie starts with an innocent love story between Meera (Ayesha Kaduskar) and Sameer (Jitendra Kumar). However, it soon descends into a disturbing crime mystery. Later, Meera’s disappearance reveals the sinister reality of a small town which is divided by religion and fear. The show is inspired by the true events of 19 missing women in North India, and it establishes its serious tone within the first ten minutes.
Jitendra Kumar plays a psychopath who tries to manipulate his charm to lure victims. On the other hand, Arshad Warsi essays a senior Inspector Vishwas Bhagwat, who is haunted by anger and past failures. Their clash could have been a masterclass in psychological warfare, but Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas couldn’t just hit the mark of brilliance.
Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas Cast Performances
Arshad Warsi has shown his class, as he has delivered one of his most controlled and intense performances. His portrayed role of a conflicted police officer who is torn between duty and rage feels very real and natural. On the other hand, Jitendra Kumar was also decent with his work as an educated and cold-blooded killer. Jitendra Kumar, who was known for his gentle on-screen persona, took up the challenge of being a chilling predator in Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas, and he was decent.
However, despite these powerful performances, the writing messed up the storyline. It never allowed their chemistry to fully explode. Warsi’s emotions and Kumar’s calm needed a sharper dialogue and deeper backstory, but unfortunately, Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas missed the mark. Moreover, the film hints at a psychological depth but never explores it enough to earn its title.

What Works:
- The brilliant casting of Jitendra Kumar as the unexpected antagonist is one of the major highlights of the Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas
- Arshad Warsi continues to show his commanding presence and emotional restraint on the screen.
- A realistic setup, which is rooted in true events, keeps the viewers engaged throughout the show.
What Doesn’t:
- Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas deserved a much better second half and conventional courtroom sequences.
- At times, the emotional connection with the victims faltered.
- Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas couldn’t truly explore the opportunity for deeper psychological exploration.

All in all, Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas is good and engaging, but it is inconsistent. Jitendra Kumar and Arshad Warsi are the highlights of the show, as they brought much-needed intensity and authenticity, but the storytelling feels undercooked and loses focus midway.
If you are someone who enjoys watching crime thrillers that are inspired by real-life incidents, then Bhagwat Chapter One: Raakshas on Zee5 could be your one-time watch. But if you’re looking for a psychological deep dive like Sector 36, then you will be left disappointed.
