Boston Blue Story
Boston Blue takes us to the story of Danny Reagan, played once again by Donnie Wahlberg. Donnie brings his signature grit and intensity to the Boston Police Department. After many years with the NYPD, Danny moves north with the hope of reconnecting with his son, Sean Reagan (Mika Amonsen). Sean Reagan is now a rookie patrol cop. The shift is very smooth, and it allows the audience to explore Danny’s paternal side.
In Boston, we see Danny teaming up with Detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green). Detective Lena Silver is a sharp, fearless investigator, and she comes from a prominent local law enforcement family. Their chemistry and clashing work styles give the show its spark, and it perfectly mirrors the energy that once defined Blue Bloods’ partnerships.

And her stepsister Sarah (Maggie Lawson) is seen serving as a superintendent in the Boston Police Department. The Silver family brings prestige, and she adds complexity to the narrative. The Silver family gives a new dynamic to Boston Blue that blends political intrigue and personal struggles.
Reverend Edwin Peters (Ernie Hudson), who is Mae’s father, adds further emotional weight to the scene. This multi-generational representation works very well, and it makes Boston Blue more than a procedural.
