Bougainvillea box office collection day 2: Jyothirmayi, Kunchacko Boban, and Fahadh Faasil pivotal featuring Malayalam psychological crime thriller “Bougainvillaea” was released in theatres on October 17th and was directed and co-written by Amal Neerad, based on the Lajo Jose-Authored Malayalam book “Ruthinte Lokam.”
While the film debuted at the box office with a quite well-score of Rs 3.3 Cr net in India, after receiving the mixed reviews from the moviegoers and critics on the second day, it witnessed a huge 36.06% decline. The film received a 6.9 rating on IMDb based on 258 individual reviews.
Bougainvillea box office collection day 2 surpasses the Rs 5 Cr mark in India!
According to the industry tracker Sacnilk.com report, Malayalam film Bougainvillaea, which opened with a notable Rs 3.3 Cr net in India, secured the 9th spot among the top opening day Malayalam net collection movies in 2024, just behind coming-of-age drama film Varshangalkku Shesham (Rs 3.15 crore).
But on the second day, the crime thriller failed to make an upward box office trend, witnessed around 36.06% decline, and minted Rs 2.15 Cr (early estimate), bringing the 2-day total domestic net collection to Rs 5.45 Cr. It’s anticipated that on the opening Saturday it will see a slide in growth domestically, which could bring the 3-day collection in the range of Rs 8-9 Cr net.
