After a long 6 years of hiatus, makers are returning in the demand of the audience this Christmas with a new season of CID. Today, 24th October, makers announced a powerful promo to drop on 26th October to unveil the most loved characters, alongside some new faces. It’s worth adding that the upcoming season of the CID is being written by keeping in mind the modern-generation audience and, simultaneously, the new-age technologies that will be used to enhance the acceptance.

On Thursday (24th October), Sony Entertainment Television’s official Instagram handle shared a post and captioned it: “Mark your calendars – 26th October ko hoga ek dhamakedar promo drop! (there will be an explosive promo drop on October 26th!)”
As per the reputed news portal Pinkvilla report, the filming for the series will kick off in November 2024 (around November 15) at Mumbai, and it will be streamed from December—around the Christmas or New Year period.
The Pinkvilla source close to the development said: “The shoot begins around November 15, and the idea is to take the cult detective series on air in December – around the Christmas / New Year period. Over the years, audiences have given so much love to the TV show, and now is the time to give back the love to the audience. The new CID series is being written keeping the present taste buds of audiences in mind, and will involve the use of new-age technologies too, to solve the cases”

The Indian police procedural TV series was started on 21 January 1998 and was run until 27 October 2018. In this time period, 1,547 episodes were broadcast. This long-running TV series was created and directed by B. P. Singh. Stars teamed up with this popular series are Shivaji Satam as ACP Pradyuman, Aditya Srivastava as Sr. Inspector Abhijeet, Dayanand Shetty as Sr. Inspector Daya, Dinesh Phadnis as Inspector Fredricks, and Narendra Gupta as Dr. Salunkhe, among others. In 2004, the makers of CID created a world record by shooting an 111-minute span of edisode in a single shot. It replaced earlier record holder the Russian 80-minute-span documentary; until now the record has not been broken.
