Devara Part 1 movie review out: Koratala Siva directed and wrote the high-octane action drama “Devara: Part 1,” which after a long wait finally hit the theatres today, featuring the dynamic duo Jr. NTR and Saif Ali Khan in the principal roles, alongside Srikanth, Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, and Janhvi Kapoor in the cameo roles. Despite both lead actors delivering their best effort, the poor storyline fails to hook the moviegoers post-intermission.

Devara Part 1 movie plot analysis
The action entertainer revolves around the story of Devara (Jr. NTR), the fearless leader of a smuggling (weapon) gang, staying in a coastal region, which region contains 4 major villages, and all of the villagers survive through this perilous profession. Devara continues this without knowing in-depth about this illegal work, but when he and his entire gang, including Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan), came to know in-depth about the work by a surprising event, their team became split into two parts, one led by Devara and another one led by Bhaira.
While Devara realised the actual threat of their illegal work and took a bold step to stop this smuggling, he also noticed that these weapons were also being used against their people. On the other hand, Bhaira doesn’t care about people; he only wants to continue this work at any cost. Now Devara uses his fearlessness against Bhaira and the gang to save the village. He created new rules for this sea to control smuggling; except for fishing, if anybody went to the sea for illegal work, they had to face Devara. Can Devara maintain his dominance for a long time? If so, how? Can Devara’s son Vara maintain this dominance in the absence of his father?
Devara Part 1 movie review: decent action drama
The film created immense buzz prior to its release, but unfortunately, it failed to meet the moviegoer’s expectations. Koratala Siva’s direction is quite good, but the plot writing is the key lack in the film. The first half connected the audience quite well with the plot, but from the post-interval, the absence of energy made it slide boarding, and a few funny sequences were forcefully inserted, which can be trimmed off, making it slide a smaller runtime film. Jr. NTR and Saif Ali Khan’s work looks promising, but Janhvi Kapoor’s character fails to add value to the film.
Prakash Raj’s portrayal has very few sequences, but all are remarkable; alongside Srikanth, Shruti Marathe, Shine Tom Chacko, and others characters were also done well. Anirudh Ravichander‘s music is impressive, R. Rathnavelu’s cinematography looks good, and A. Sreekar Prasad’s editing needs quite an improvement. Overall, this is a decent action drama that you can watch single-time in theatres or wait for the OTT release.
