The National Award-winning director Subhrajit Mitra’s “Devi Chowdhurani” trailer is out now, which is based on Bankim Chandra Chatterjee authored iconic novel of the same name. The trailer is set against the backdrop of the 18th century, which showcases how Bhavani Pathak gradually transforms the fearless innocent lady Prafulla into the form of Devi Chaudhuri, a powerful bandit queen.
The film is locked to land on the silver screens this Durga Puja, on 26 September 2025. Stars joining forces with the venture are Prosenjit Chatterjee, Srabanti Chatterjee, Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Arjun Chakrabarty, Bibriti Chatterjee, Darshana Banik and others.

Prosenjit Chatterjee & Srabanti Chatterjee’s Devi Chowdhurani trailer
The 2.29-minute-wide engaging Devi Chowdhurani trailer is set in 1770 AD, when the British were ruling in India, when India was the richest country in the world, and Bengal was the wealthiest region of the country. Following this, it spotlights the daring orphan lady Prafulla (played by Srabanti Chatterjee).
But how Bhavani Pathak (played by Prosenjit Chatterjee) meets with Prafulla and gradually shapes her into Devi Chowdhurani, a courageous bandit queen who defies oppression and stands firmly against the British, will be interesting to see in this Durga Puja.
