According to sources close to Evolution, Shah Rukh Khan has a clear way of exiting the Don franchise. “Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have had many extensive talks with King Khan on Don 3. Before Covid, a couple of proposals were also canvassed, which took the form of a script through Covid.
The convocation took place a few days ago, but Shah Rukh Khan is not interested in making a comeback as a don at this moment in time. He is determined to make materialistic films that serve a universal audience, and Don clearly does not fit the criteria of cinema that he is set to make for some years to come. He has shifted his decision to Associate in Excel.

Farhan Akhtar is currently working on a new script for the Don reboot. Amitabh Bachchan was cast in Don back in 1978; Don 2 came back in 2005 with Shah Rukh Khan; and now, with plans to return to it in 2024, Farhan is all set to refresh the franchise with a new ensemble cast.
