Thalapathy Vijay’s Sports Action Film was re-released on Saturday, April 20, 2024, and on its opening day at the global box office, it grossed a massive Rs 8 crore gross globally, with the highest ever grossing number of Indian re-release films at the worldwide box office.
On the 2nd day (Sunday), it racked up another tremendous Rs 4 crore gross, and within 2 days, it hit the Rs 12 crore mark globally. Out of the collection, more than Rs 7.5 crore contribution came from the Tamil Nadu states alone, which is phenomenal for the Indian film history.
That’s not all; on Monday, early estimates reported a collection of over Rs 3 crore. With this, the film has finally exceeded the Rs 15 crore mark globally within 3 days, and alone, the Tamil Nadu region collection amassed over Rs 9 crore.
