Happy 56th birthday to Manish Malhotra, who was born on December 5, 1966, in Bombay, Maharashtra, India. His father’s name is Suraj Prakash Malhotra, and his mother is Garima Oberoi. He completed his schooling at Sacred Heart Boys High School. Following that, he attended Elphinstone College, where he studied under Dr. Homi Bhabha of the State University. He is heavily influenced by Bollywood movies, songs, and colors as he grows up. In his 10th-grade art class, he takes painting, which he likes the most.

His debut in a fashion design career came from the film Swarg, which was released on May 18, 1990, under the direction of David Dhawan. He was given the opportunity to style the look of a photo shoot featuring the late Sridevi, Mr. Malhotra was introduced to her by photographer Rakesh Sreshtha, the same year. Then he realized that costume design is an important aspect of filmmaking because it helps characters relate to the plot. That’s why Mr. Malhotra started following the script of the movie, according to the script, he started giving costumes accordingly. This method of costume design works well and meets the needs of the audience.
Mr. Malhotra, who has since become the world’s most popular costume designer, has created costumes for over 1,000 films. He is a fashion designer, entrepreneur, and filmmaker in addition to doing costume design.
Now he elaborates on his work in cinema (Bollywood, Telugu, Tamil, Hollywood, television, and the fashion industry). He got various awards for his outstanding design sense; out of these awards, the most memorable award Priyadarshini Memorial Award. Can you imagine that Filmfare, India’s most precious film award, introduced the Filmfare Award for Best Costume Design in 1996 for his notable dedication to the industry?
