The 6-meter-tall and bronze statue unveil ceremony was held along the Magdalena River. And the ceremony is attended by Shakira’s parents and the mayor. The statue is garnished with one of her iconic belly-dancing outfits, with delicately raised arms. On December 29th, the singer expressed gratitude by sharing this monumental tribute on her social media handles, and thanks to the talented artist, 52-year-old Yino Marquez, and also to the people of her land, who have huge love for her contribution.
