India’s Oscar Entry Homebound Advances to Top 15 in Next Voting Round: India’s 98th addition to the Oscar entry, the drama film ‘Homebound‘, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, moves a step forward to the dream nomination for the 98th Academy Awards in the International Feature Film category.
Initially, the film was also applauded at ‘The 78th Annual Cannes Film Festival‘, which took place from 13 to 24 May 2025. Adding to the excitement, Homebound’s executive producer Martin Scorsese congratulated the entire team for this achievement.

On 5th January, ‘The Academy’ official X (formerly Twitter) handle page announced the top 15 films, which advanced to the next round of voting in the International Feature Film category of the 98th Academy Awards. Notably, the Indian Oscar entry film ‘Homebound’ secures a crucial position in this list, marking a significant milestone and sparking immense joy among the film’s makers as it moves a step closer to a coveted nomination.

Adding to the excitement, Homebound’s executive producer Martin Scorsese recently took to his official Instagram handle and congratulated the entire cast & crew, and he also feels glad for being part of this project.
I’m very happy to be associated as an Executive Producer on HOMEBOUND ( @homeboundthefilm ), shortlisted in the Best International Feature category at this year’s Academy Awards.
I was deeply moved by this true story of two young men whose friendship and search for dignity speak to the need for empathy and human connection in a divided world.
