Jailer Box Office Collection Day 1: The much-awaited Dark Comedy action film Jailer finally debuted at the worldwide box office on August 10th, and on its opening day, the film broke many records; it became the highest opener movie of 2023 in the Tamil Nadu region.
As a Kollywood movie, it set a massive opening record in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana, which it never did before, making it 2023’s biggest opening movie in Kerala regions and the biggest Kollywood opening of 2023. The Nelson directed film collected ₹ 18.26 crore only from the opening day advance booking, which was a rare advance booking collection in Kollywood film industry.

The much-awaited film was released in 2 different languages, Tamil and Telugu. On the opening day, the Rajinikanth lead film had 78.62% overall Tamil occupancy, in the morning shows footfalls were 71.41%, in the afternoon shows footfalls were 71.54%, and in the Tamil versions, the evening and night shows footfalls were 82.09% and 89.44%, and the film had overall 69.22% Telugu occupancy on day 1.
