Jazz City is set against the backdrop of the late 1960s and the events leading up to the Bangladesh Liberation War. It follows Jimmy Roy, who is a Kolkata-based nightclub owner played by Arifin Shuvoo. Jimmy is gradually pulled into a covert Indian mission, and he is tasked with aiding Bangladeshi rebels.
