L2 Empuraan global box office collection day 1: Antony Perumbavoor and Gokulam Gopalan backed the much-awaited Malayalam political drama thriller “L2: Empuraan“, featuring Mohanlal, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Abhimanyu Singh, Tovino Thomas, and others, which started roaring in the silver screens yesterday, on 27th March. The magnum opus kicks off its box office journey with Rs 21.4 Cr net in India, out of an impressive Rs 19 Cr generated by the Malayalam version alone, marking the biggest net opening in 2025, as well as in the history of Mollywood film.
Rest Rs 1.15 Cr was added by the Telugu version, Tamil version added Rs 0.70 Cr, Hindi version Rs 0.50 Cr, and the Kannada version contributed Rs 0.07. Cr.

L2 Empuraan opening day overseas score breaches all past Malayalam records
According to the official update by the lead, Mohanlal, L2 Empuraan on the opening day at overseas markets shattered all the past records and grossed a massive $5 million+ (Rs 42.76 Cr and counting) in PAN Indian languages, marking the biggest overseas opening score by any Malayalam film.

The North American distributor Prime Media recently reported, at the key international market, North America, it grossed a humongous $1.1 million (Rs 9.43 Cr) within the premiere, day 1 and day 2 till 9 AM EST.
The film critic and business analyst Nishit Shaw recently reported that the actioner in GCC countries grossed a humongous $2.45 million (Rs 20.95 crore) and registered the new record of the highest single-day grosser Indian film in the Middle East Asia region.
