In the domestic box office, Mohanlal led film accumulated Rs 59 Cr within the opening weekend; following that, on day 5 (1st Monday), due to the Eid holiday, it maintained a tremendous hold with Rs 11.15 Cr, bringing the total Indian net score to Rs 70.15 Cr; out of Rs 63.9 Cr contributed by the Malayalam version alone. L2 Empuraan 5 days overseas gross reaches $13.78M!
According to the industry tracker Sacnil.com report, L2 Empuraan grossed $12.26 million (Rs 105 Cr) in the last 4 days of the extended weekend, continuing the box office trend, on the 1st Monday, it garnered $1.52 million (Rs 13 Cr), which took the total 5-day international market score to $13.78 million (Rs 118 Cr).
The reputed market tracker Venky Box Office lastly reported that the action thriller, one of the key overseas markets in North America, on day 4 added $353,264 from 368 locations. Now the total for the USA ($1,210,967) and Canada’s (CAD$1,009,289) total score stands at $2,220,256 (Rs 19.02 Cr).

As per the latest market tracker report, Mohanlal‘s film bagged Rs 174.00 Cr (India: 69 Cr; overseas: 105 Cr) gross after excluding the 4-day weekend, followed by, on day 5, the Indian box office added Rs 13 Cr gross and the overseas market $1.52 million (Rs 13 Cr). Now it proudly stands in the humongous Rs 200 Cr club (India: 82 Cr; Overseas: 118 Cr), creating history as the fastest Rs 200 Cr grosser by any Malayalam film within just 5 days. As per the Pinkvilla report, the film was made with a budget of Rs 180 Cr, and now, it has secured the budget amount, there’s still a long way to go.
At the moment of this historical achievement, lead Mohanlal shared a special post and captioned it: “The OVERLORD shatters the 200 crore barrier in style! EMPURAAN makes history!”
