L2 Empuraan movie review
Prithviraj Sukumaran crafted a larger-than-life socio-political tale that surpasses all the expectations in terms of magnificence and delivery. The one and only Mohanlal holds his scale impressively; his presence and dialogue delivery successfully leave crucial impacts in the film.
Manju Warrier stunned the viewers with her outstanding appearance, and Abhimanyu Singh’s character portrayal as an antagonist, also impressive. Sujith Vaassudev, as a cinematographer, serves us grand visuals; Akhilesh Mohan’s editing is noteworthy, and last but not least, Deepak Dev’s music is outstanding and grips the audience with a seat.
On the other hand, the negative side of the film: Murali Gopy’s plot fails to meet the viewers high expectations due to a lack of substance, and its lengthy runtime, which also has been unsuccessful in sustaining the scale of the narrative of Lucifer. Despite being a long-duration film, due to many pivotal portrayals, makers fail to bring the potential of all the characters to the audience. Another negative point of the story is that, due to several subplots, it confuses the viewers instead of keeping them engaged.
Baap of Movies Verdict
Overall, the versatile Prithviraj Sukumaran once again proves that he is not only a fantastic actor; he is also a great director, as we had received a remarkable example from his directorial debut film Lucifer. The dynamic Mohanlal is proving himself like a wine; as much as it matures, the flavour and taste will improve. We recommend you watch this film in cinemas for a larger-than-life experience.
