Main Atal Hoon Box Office Collection Day 1 (Early Trends): Ravi Jadhav directed and co-wrote the Hindi-language period-drama film “Main Atal Hoon,” which finally arrived in theaters on January 19, based on the biography of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. One of the versatile actors from Bollywood, Pankaj Tripathi, portrayed the iconic Atalji’s political journey alongside Piyush Mishra, who played Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s father, a school teacher, Krishna Bihari Vajpayee, despite Raja Rameshkumar Sevak, Daya Shankar Pandey, and Pramod Pathak also played crucial roles in the film.
The film received mixed to positive reviews from moviegoers and critics. The film critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh praised the effort of the entire team on his Twitter handle and wrote,
#OneWordReview… #MainAtalHoon: CAPTIVATING. Rating: 3 and Stars out of 5
½ It’s tough to make a biopic on a stalwart and encompass pertinent episodes from his lifespan in 2+ hours… #NationalAward-winning director #RaviJadhav achieves it with flourish… #MainAtalHoon is, without doubt, one of the finest biopics made in recent times. #MainAtalHoonReview#MainAtalHoon rests on three strong pillars: writing, casting and acting… The writers chronicle #Atalji’s journey – supported by archival footage – with great success… Ditto for the casting of political heavyweights like #LKAdvani, #SushmaSwaraj, #ArunJaitley and #PramodMahajan.
The period-drama would’ve lost its sheen if entrusted to an amateur, but #PankajTripathi deserves distinction marks for portraying one of the most-admired leaders of our times, without going overboard or making it caricaturist. #MainAtalHoon moves at a snail’s pace in the first hour, which might test your patience… Also, the screenwriting could’ve been tighter in this hour… The sequences, barring a few, aren’t memorable enough. Thankfully, the post-interval portions change the tide completely… Would like to make a special mention of the visuals [monochrome tone especially] and background score, both elevate the goings-on to a major extent. #MainAtalHoon – carrying minimal buzz – could’ve done with a better release period, since the much-awaited biggie #Fighter invades cineplexes next Thursday.
