Malayalam dark comedy Ponman OTT: Basil Joseph, Sajin Gopu, Lijomol Jose, Anand Manmadhan, and Deepak Parambol are pivotal in the Malayalam dark comedy film “Ponman,” directed by Jothish Shankar, was released in cinemas on 30 January 2025 and received rave responses from both critics and audiences. Following its theatrical run, it is now ready to world premiere from 14th March, on JioHotstar, coinciding with the occasion of Holi. It’s an adaptation of GR Indugopan’s authored novel Naalanchu Cheruppakar.

The plot of the film, set in the coastal region of Kollam, follows PP Ajesh (Basil Joseph), a jewellery sales agent, who enters into a unique business where he advances gold jewellery to brides’ families on the condition of paying back to him a handsome cash gift received during the wedding. Through this business, he lends 25 sovereigns of gold to Steffi’s (Lijomol Jose) family. What will happen next?
It’s all set to premiere on JioHotstar from 14th March onwards in the original Malayalam language. It received a notable 7.8 rating on reputed news portal IMDb, based on 2,723 individual remarks.
JioHotstar officially took to the Twitter handle and confirmed, “Ponman will be streaming from March 14 on JioHotstar!”
