Merry Christmas Global Box Office Collection Day 2: Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s first ever collaborative film, “Merry Christmas,” was released on January 12 in Hindi and Tamil under the direction of Sriram Raghavan. The Drama Thriller received mixed reviews from filmgoers and critics, on IMDb, it got an 8.1 rating out of 10, based on 4,636 votes.
The film in 2 days stands just ₹ 2 Cr away from the ₹ 10 Cr mark at the worldwide box office. Now all eyes are on day 3, opening Sunday growth. Based on the Bollywood Hungama report, the makers had already sold streaming rights far prior to the theatrical release to the OTT giant Netflix. Both the Hindi and Tamil versions were sold for ₹ 60 Cr.
Merry Christmas Day 2 Domestic Theatres Occupancy Report
Merry Christmas on the 2nd day had an overall 18.15% Hindi 2D occupancy across the domestic theaters. Morning shows footfalls were 10.82%, afternoon shows footfalls were 17.28%, and side by side evening and night shows footfalls were 21.67% and 21.67%.
And in the Tamil 2D version, it had an overall 26.48% occupancy. Morning shows footfalls were 15.41%, afternoon shows footfalls were 25.66%, followed by evening and night shows footfalls of 27.00% and 37.84%, respectively.
Merry Christmas Global Box Office Collection Day 2 Reached ₹ 8 Cr
Based on the Sacnilk.com report, Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi’s latest film was minted ₹ 2.45 crore [Hi: 2.2 crore; Ta: 0.22 crore; Te: 0.03 crore] net on the opening day in India. Due to the good performance at urban-centric locations On the second day, the film saw a notable 40.82% growth and racked ₹ 3.45 Cr net. It minted the majority number from the Hindi version ₹ 3.1 Cr net, from the Tamil version ₹ 0.33 Cr, and in the Telugu version ₹ 0.02 Cr, and brought the total Indian net to ₹ 5.9 Cr [Hi: 5.3 Cr; Ta: 0.55 Cr; Te: 0.05 Cr].
On the other hand, 2 days of India gross collection stand at ₹ 7 Cr, and overseas ₹ 1 Cr contribution brings the total global gross collection to ₹ 8 Cr.
