Mirai Plot Breakdown
The Mirai takes us to Emperor Ashoka’s remorse after the Kalinga war, after he entrusts nine sacred books that contain the secret of immortality to loyal guardians. After a few centuries, we see how Ambica (Shriya Saran) foresees the rise of Mahabir Lama. The Black Sword (Manchu Manoj) takes the help of these books to gain eternal power. His desperate actions have a strong link to the Vedha Prajapathi (Teja Sajja), who is a carefree orphan from Hyderabad. The central mystery of what Mirai truly is, whether it’s a book or something much greater, keeps the suspense alive throughout.
Performances That Elevate the Mirai
A key highlight of this Mirai review is undoubtedly Teja Sajja’s effortless and flawless performance. Soon, after the massive success of Hanu-Man, Sajja had proved his versatility. He is so natural with his charm in the first half, as he contrasted beautifully with his determined transformation in the second.
Manchu Manoj, who is playing the role of the menacing Mahabir Lama, has won the screen with his fiery eyes and impactful dialogue delivery. He played The Black Sword, and thanks to his screen presence, he added much-needed gravitas to the conflict. Shriya Saran also shines in a meaty role as she shows her class by bringing grace and emotional intensity. The supporting cast, in the form of Jagapathi Babu, Jayaram, and Getup Srinu, perform effectively.
Visual Splendor and Technical Excellence
No Mirai review can be complete without praising its technical brilliance. Karthik Gattamneni has shown us why he is going to be one of the best directors, as he delivers some of the most natural-looking, stunning visuals. The Sampati bird sequence and the Siddha Kshetram showdown in Mirai show the scale of Karthik Gattamneni as a director.
Gowra Hari has also added his flavour with his background score to add immense power to the action scene. The VFX work is top-notch, and it deserves applause for matching the standards of a big-budget film with a limited budget.

Mirai Movie Review: Strengths & Weaknesses
Mirai’s biggest highlight is its beautifully executed action set pieces, mythological flourishes, and high-voltage sequences that feel so natural and engaging. Vedha’s identity reveal, the train sequence, and the divine appearance of Lord Rama stand out, and it is one of the biggest cinematic treats.
On the flip side, the first half feels very flat thanks to the predictable scenes, which rely heavily on familiar tropes. Ritika Nayak’s character is disappointing, and she needs more development. And the comedy track that had Venkatesh Maha and Kishore Tirumala feels misplaced. The climax was ok, but action fans would have expected it to be much more impactful for a film of this scale.

All in all, in this Mirai review, we have seen that the film takes us on a perfectly balanced, thrilling ride of mythology, fantasy, and modern adventure. Teja Sajja shines with one of his best performances, and Shriya Saran showed her class by adding much-needed depth to crucial moments. Mirai offers many breathtaking moments that justify the big-screen experience, all thanks to its stellar visuals, a pulsating score, and polished VFX.
Though Mirai has a few flaws in the first half, its second half is worth giving a shot, especially if you are a fan of epic storytelling and mythological drama.
