Mithra Mandali Review: Vijayender S’ directorial and written Telugu entertainer “Mithra Mandali” arrived in the worldwide theatres on October 16, 2025, and it attempts to recapture the charm of humor popularized by EVV Satyanarayana’s films in the 1990s. Mithra Mandali tries to present an ambitious mix of satire and slapstick. The film brought together the likes of Priyadarshi, Niharika NM, Rag Mayur, Vishnu Oi, and Prasad Behara, but it is a disappointment.

Mithra Mandali Story

Mithra Mandali tries to present a combination of modern comedy with social commentary. The story follows Sweccha (Niharika NM). Sweccha is the daughter of a caste-obsessed politician, Narayana (VTV Ganesh), and she elopes for love. Narayana wants to save his reputation, and that’s why he frames the incident as a kidnapping, dragging four aimless friends, who are played by Priyadarshi, Rag Mayur, Vishnu Oi, and Prasad Behara.
The Mithra Mandali premise appears to mirror the structure of hit Telugu comedies like Jathi Ratnalu and MAD. Unfortunately, the film failed at so many parameters, and what could have been a witty social satire devolves into repetitive humor and over-the-top performances.
Weak Script and Emotional Core
The major flaw of Mithra Mandali lies in its writing. The movie’s motto was very good, as it wanted to tackle the caste-based prejudice, but it only scratches the surface. And it fails to merge the theme with effective comedy. Sweccha’s character feels underdeveloped. Her chemistry with the male lead looks very forced, and it never blossoms convincingly.
The four male protagonists couldn’t deliver – they should have formed the comedic heart of the film, but they come across as caricatures. Their friendship lacks depth. And, to make it worse, the jokes feel very much forced rather than flowing naturally. The film’s self-aware tone works in moments, but it becomes very exhausting due to uneven pacing and exaggerated gags. The poor scripting and depth have made Mithra Mandali a disaster.
Mithra Mandali Cast Performance
In Mithra Mandali, Priyadarshi was good while delivering a restrained performance. However, at times, his comic spark feels dimmed due to the weak material. Niharika NM, as Sweccha, was a failure, as she couldn’t bring emotional authenticity to her role. VTV Ganesh hams it up as the caste-proud father. Also, Rag Mayur and Vishnu Oi were good, as they offered decent support.
Sathya and Prasad Behara stand out as the true entertainers, as they won the scene in the hilarious Janglipatnam police station scene and the Pulihora temple sequence.
Technical Aspects and Music

Technically, the film leaves a mixed impression. RR Dhruvan’s soundtrack, which had the song Jambar Gimbar Lala, was a huge disappointment, and it fails to energise the narrative. The excessive use of slow-motion shots looks very unprofessional. And the inconsistent editing makes the Mithra Mandali even worse, as it disturbs the overall pace. Cinematography does little to enhance the comedy, and this makes many sequences appear stretched and unfocused.
Baap of Movies Final Verdict
All in all, in this Mithra Mandali review, we have seen that the movie, which could have been a fun-filled buddy comedy, ended up being a disjointed spectacle. The intentions are sincere, and the cast is capable, too, but the scripting and execution were poor. Mithra Mandali could have been a satire on caste, but it ended up being a chaotic mix of missed jokes and lost potential.
Skip it if you are looking for something unique and engaging. However, you will love Mithra Mandali if you want to feel the prospects of the caste system in India. If not loved the prospect of the movie, then the film fails at so many parameters.
