Sisters are shown with personal struggles rooted in their tragic pasts: they are all in memory of their two lost fathers. Katharine, who is a disciplined Navy officer, clings to her father’s memory. Victoria, who is a glamorous movie star, uses her father’s death as part of her public narrative.
