Ponniyin Selvan 2, the sequel to Ponniyin Selvan, has Crossed Rs. 300 crores Milestone worldwide in just 12 days. It has a better story line-up than Ponniyin Selvan 1, almost the same characters who were portrayed in the first part and also an ensemble in the second part, and also did very well in Net, crossing Rs. 150 crores. Mani Ratnam’s PS2 has done sensational business in BOC worldwide so far and features Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Vikram, Trisha Krishnan, and other lead characters.
The PS2 received positive reviews from critics upon its launch and even received favorable oral communication. Possibly, the presentation was beyond the standard of Ponniyin Selvan 1, as Ponniyin Selvan 2 has seen unexpected drops during the weekdays. After 12 days at the worldwide box office, Ponniyin Selvan 2 has generated ₹ 158.20 Cr net in the domestic chain and, on the other hand, ₹ 117.00 Cr from the overseas chain. The total worldwide collection is now ₹ 303.45 Cr. If we look back at the Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 collection, according to Sacnilk data, after 12 days it earned ₹ 224.25 Cr net from the domestic chain and ₹ 150 Cr from the overseas chain. The total worldwide collection was ₹ 413.80 Cr. In 12 days, compared to PS1 collection, PS 2 did ₹ 110.35 Cr less collection.
