‘Ready or Not 2: Here I Come’ Review (2026) – The horror-comedy sequel “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come“, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, has premiered, and it takes the twisted survival game from the 2019 hit Ready or Not. Plot: Another Deadly Game Begins
The story of the second season begins right where the original left off. Grace is played once again by Samara Weaving, and she has just survived the deadly family ritual that destroyed the La Domas clan. She’s covered in blood and outside the burning mansion when she’s finally rescued and transported to a hospital in Connecticut. However, her nightmare is far from over.
In the hospital, she’s reunited with her estranged sister Faith, played by Kathryn Newton. However, their reunion soon turns ugly when she’s kidnapped and brought before a secret council composed of the most powerful elite families. An ancient law created by the enigmatic Le Bail stipulates that a new dusk-till-dawn game has to be started.
In this new installment, one member from each of the powerful families will be hunting Grace. The winner will attain ultimate power and be seated on the highest seat on the council. However, if they’re unsuccessful, Grace will attain this position. The new game turns the council compound into a hunting arena with assassins, killings, and brutal fights.
Cast Performance
Once again, Samara Weaving proves to be a horror icon as she plays the fearless yet chaotic Grace. She continues to bring the same intensity and dark humor to the character that made the first installment memorable.
Kathryn Newton plays the part of Faith with emotional tension, although the sisterly drama sometimes seems exaggerated and unbelievable. However, the villains are entertainingly eccentric. Sarah Michelle Gellar plays the cold and calculating Ursula, while Shawn Hatosy plays the reckless rich heir, Titus.
The film also stars the legendary filmmaker David Cronenberg as the enigmatic Chester Danforth, the leader of the council. However, Elijah Wood plays the part of the lawyer with a hint of humor.

What’s Good About the Film
One of the biggest strengths of Ready or Not 2 is its unapologetic embrace of chaos and camp. The film constantly escalates its violent scenes to an exaggerated degree, which makes them both shocking and darkly funny.
The directors’ sense of energy is high throughout the film. They include intense combat scenes and creative confrontations within the sprawling compound of the council.

Even though the film is entertaining, it has a problem with narrative coherence. The expanded storyline includes a number of characters and plot points that are either underdeveloped or too complicated.
The relationship between Grace and Faith adds an emotional depth to the story.
Furthermore, the sequel does not have the same level of structure that the original film had. In the original film, the action is confined to one mansion, which gives the film a level of tension that is quite engaging. In the sequel, the action is spread out over a wider area, which at times gives the film a sense of chaos and repetition.
