Sholay Returns to the Big Screen: India’s biggest blockbuster so far, “Sholay“, directed by the legendary Ramesh Sippy, was released on the big screens on 15 August 1975, under the banner of United Producers & Sippy Films. Now, five decades later, the iconic classic is returning to cinemas in its uncut, original version on 12th December 2025, to celebrate its grand Golden Jubilee with the new generation of movie lovers. Featuring a stellar ensemble cast, with Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bhaduri, and Amjad Khan in prominent roles.

According to official Sippy Films’ latest report, Ramesh Sippy’s evergreen classic Sholay’s uncut original version is to come back on the silver screens on 12th November. Reportedly, the film was restored in 4k and Dolby 5.1 by the Film Heritage Foundation. The report also added, Moviegoers are going to experience this rare uncut original version for the first time ever.
