Suniel Shetty, a well-known Bollywood actor, during his meeting with the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh on January 5th in Mumbai. A conference was held regarding the new film city in Uttar Pradesh, and many film actors and directors were invited by Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath. During the conference, Suniel Shetty expressed his views on boycotting Bollywood in front of Yogi Adityanath.
He spoke very politely to Yogi Adityanath and requested that if you speak, then the trend of boycotting, which is going on in Bollywood, will be stopped. There are many good people in the Bollywood industry who work hard and make films, but because of the boycott, their hard work goes in vain. Suniel Shetty also said that wrong things like drugs do not happen in the Bollywood industry.
Akshay Kumar went to meet Yogi Adityanath a day before the conference. He had many talks with Akshay Kumar in connection with the new film city in Uttar Pradesh. Akshay Kumar also urged Yogi Adityanath to see Ramayana, directed by Abhishek Sharma and starring Akshay Kumar, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and more.
Now, Suniel Shetty shares his thoughts on how audiences can be encouraged to visit theaters. The actor termed “Boycott Bollywood” as dangerous and said via Indian Express, “Jo hashtag chal Raha hai, Boycott Bollywood, yeh ruk bhi sakta hai, aapke kehne se.” (The hashtag “boycott Bollywood” can be stopped even if you say so.) It is important to understand this so that most people do good work as well. Bad things are everywhere, but you can’t call everyone bad because of someone else’s.
Suniel Shetty asked Yogi Adityanath to talk to Prime Minister Modi about this issue as well.
“Today, if I am Suniel Shetty, it is because of UP and the fans from there. If you take the lead, this can definitely happen. It is of great importance that this stigma that is on us is gone. It is a very strong emotion for me. Dukh hota hai bolne me ke humaare pe yeh stigma hai (it pains me to tell that there is this stigma on us) because 99% of us are not like that. Hum din bhar drugs nahi lete, hum galat kaam nahi karte (We don’t do drugs the whole day; we don’t do wrong work). Hum achhe kaam se jude hai (We are associated with good work). Bharat ko agar bahar ke desho se kisi ne joda hai toh woh hai humaara music (Bollywood music has connected India with the world), and our stories. “So, Yogi ji, if you take the lead and talk to our beloved Prime Minister about it, it will make a huge difference.”
Yogi Adityanath told Akshay Kumar, a filmmakers to keep in mind the various aspects while selecting any subject for film. And meanwhile, there is also news that Yogi Adityanath is going to participate in the roadshow as well.
