Thode Door Thode Paas Series Story

Thode Door Thode Paas takes us to the lively Mehta household. Simran (Mona Singh) is running a bridal boutique from her garage and juggling her work and family life with her husband, Kunal (Kunaal Roy Kapur). Kunal is an online numerologist who struggles to find the right balance between logic and spirituality. Their teenage daughter Avni (Ayesha Kaduskar) and school-going son Vivaan (Sartaaj Kakkar) complete the digital family dynamic. And they both are deeply immersed in their screens and virtual worlds.
The return of Ashwin Mehta (Pankaj Kapur), who is a 70-year-old ex-naval officer and family patriarch, sparks the central conflict. They find that the work deadlines are missed due to lack of phone. Their relationships become strained, and the absence of digital convenience also exposed the the emotional gaps they’ve been avoiding.
However, with time, the family starts to adjust to a life which is free of notifications and distractions. They rediscover forgotten joys in the small moments like face-to-face conversations, and emotional presence. This transformation forms the emotional backbone of Thode Door Thode Paas.
Thode Door Thode Pass Cast Performances

Pankaj Kapur anchors Thode Door Thode Paas, and he is the highlight. He presented a well-balanced act thanks to his signature calm authority and wry humour. His portrayal of Ashwin Mehta is both affectionate and disciplined. He literally served as the moral compass of the story.
Mona Singh was much needed in Thode Door Thode Pass, as she brought warmth and natural energy to her role.

Direction and Writing: A Gentle Reminder
Ajay Bhuyan’s direction keeps the tone balanced. Thode Door Thode Pass never appeared too preachy, always heartfelt. The writing by Shiirshak S Anand is sincere, and it captures both the absurdity and beauty of digital dependence. However, the Thode Door Thode Pass episode 3 feels far too stretched. But, overall, the show maintains emotional continuity. The show’s simplicity becomes its strength, and it offers a warm escape from overcomplicated storytelling.
