Vettaiyan global box office collection day 1: The energetic duo Rajinikanth and the Tamil debutant Amitabh Bachchan‘s iconic collaboration film “Vettaiyan,” after 33 years (last seen in Hum (1991), was released this Dussehra, on 10th October, under the direction and written by T. J. Gnanavel. The action drama debuted at the worldwide box office with the second biggest score by the Kollywood film in 2024, Rs 67 Cr gross, notably replacing Kamal Haasan fronted Indian 2 (Rs 56.25 crore).

As per the industry tracker report, the Indian box office earned the impressive Rs 37 Cr (Karnataka: 6.8 Cr; APTG: 4.5 Cr; Tamil Nadu: 20.5 Cr; Kerala: 4 Cr; and Rest of India: 1.2 Cr gross), notably all set to register as the top Indian grosser among these Dussehra 2024 domestic releases. At the overseas market, it has grossed humongus Rs 30 Cr (approx. 3.6 million), and takes the opening day total worldwide gross collection to Rs 67 Cr.
