In 2002, Jackie Shroff’s (Jai Kishan Kakubhaii Shroff) wife Ayesha Shroff produced BOOM, in which Katrina made her acting debut, but the film bombed at the box office because it was pirated before it was released. After Shroff’s misfortune left him bankrupt and in debt, the actor was forced to sell his home and work twice as hard to pay off his debts.
Boom was released in 2003. The movie starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover, and many more actors and actresses who worked on the movie, which was produced by Ayesha Shroff. Jackie’s son, Tiger, had previously opened up about the aftermath of the failure.
“Further, Jackie said that he repaid everyone to clear his family name and stated that he tried something and lost something; he further said that there are ups and downs in business, which doesn’t mean that everyone will stay at the top. Sometimes failure is the lesson road to success, but you need to know how to keep your sanity and ethics,” he said, speaking with Bollywood Bubble.
During one of her appearances on Karan Johar’s show “Koffee With Karan,” Ayesha revealed that after the film was pirated, the distributors backed down and refused to take delivery, asking Jackie Shroff to return their money despite the fact that they had leased their house for movies. Loose his house also; no one is there to support the Shroff family except one person, Salman Khan, who stands with him.
Ayesha further said that Tiger Shroff, before stepping into the Bollywood industry, promised her parents that he would get their house back, which they lost. He fulfilled his promise and gave them their house back.
