The Ahmed Khan directorial and Farhad Samji written and backed 3rd instalment of the Welcome franchise film is among the most eagerly awaited comedy films in Bollywood and is continuously facing deferment. Fans are raising question, why is Welcome to the Jungle facing delays?
Initial Launch and Filming Progress
The film was launched with an announcement video, and filming was kicked off in December 2023, and it also unveiled a Christmas 2024 release. Unfortunately, it was unexpectedly delayed for various reasons, resulting in us now being 6 months ahead of the scheduled release date, but it still has not arrived. The latest biggest comedy franchise film, Housefull 5’s arrival and strong box office run boosted the interest of franchise lovers. Why Is Welcome to the Jungle Facing Delays?
According to the reputed news portal Pinkvilla’s exclusive report, Akshay Kumar’s film “Welcome to the Jungle” is facing financial trouble. In the running month of June 2025, there was a scheduled filming date, which was also cancelled; that’s not all. Over the past 6 months, there have been around 2-3 filming dates that have been cancelled, leaving the actors and their teams uncertain and frustrated about the intentions of the makers.
The source also added: “The actors have been allotting dates for the shoot of Welcome To The Jungle to producer Firoz Nadiadwala, and the same stands cancelled at the last minute due to logistical and financial issues. The last-minute cancellation in shoot has resulted in the actors sitting at home in the aforementioned period”
How much Welcome to the Jungle Filming Completed?
As per the source, Welcome to the Jungle has wrapped up around 60% of the filming, and the rest 40% is still outstanding. Surprisingly, the Akshay Kumar and others huge star-studded film film has been under production for nearly a year and a half. There are rising issues of non-payment of dues to the actors and their staff, which is the reason several professional actors have exited the project, and few remain who are still with the deep support of the team for the huge love of the franchise, and they are also ready to adjust their dates to wrap up the remaining portion of the film.

The Pinkvilla’s source close to the development also added: Initially, every actor was excited but cancellation of shoot is iffy after a point as it doesn’t only lead to a waste of time for the actors, but also a monetary loss, as the same dates could have been allotted for another film or a brand. Housefull 5 produced by Sajid Nadiadwala also had 20 actors, but the shoot planning was seamless. But on the contrary, the dates are in a weird spot with Welcome To The Jungle by Firoz Nadiadwala”
Out of all things, there is another unfortunate thing worth adding: as of now, none of the actors are aware of their next date of filming for Welcome to the Jungle.
