Elle Series Review (2026): This highly anticipated “Elle” series serves as a prequel to the famous Legally Blonde movie series and showcases the life of Elle Woods at age 16 in the mid-nineties. In contrast to the main movie, where Elle studies in law school, this series shows Elle’s relocation from sunny LA to gloomy Seattle.

Despite having the same colorful vibe as the Legally Blonde movie series, the show seems to be more of a reboot than a prequel to the original movie. Thus, many inconsistencies between the series and the original movie will definitely be spotted by fans.

Plot Overview

The story starts with Elle Woods (Lexi Minetree) enjoying a great life in Bel-Air with her loving family and popular status among the students in her school. But everything changes when her family suddenly moves to Seattle.

At her new school, Elle tries to adjust to an environment where everybody dresses in grunge clothes and has alternative lifestyles. Her bright personality, pink clothes, and optimism make her easily recognizable in the new surroundings.

Rather than surrendering, Elle gains respect gradually through her assistance to the school administration, support for different social causes, and exposure of a bigger conspiracy within the school’s administration. Thus, the show transitions from being a regular coming-of-age story to becoming a thriller teen drama series for viewers to enjoy.

Cast Performance

Another strong element of Elle is June Diane Raphael, who convincingly performs the role of Elle’s loving mother, Eva. Tom Everett Scott plays the character of Elle’s joyful father. Additionally, Zac Looker impressively acts as Dustin, the relaxed activist who becomes unexpectedly close to Elle. Moreover, Gabrielle Policano convincingly performs the role of Liz.

• The series is quite entertaining, but it has one serious flaw—the fact that it doesn’t fit the official timeline of the franchise.
• According to the movie, Elle doesn’t know anything about life outside of California, and it’s hard to believe that she spent her teenage years in Seattle.
• The representation of Seattle city itself is also riddled with many clichés that make the setting feel too exaggerated and unrealistic. In addition, there are a number of secondary characters who are inadequately developed, and certain dialogues sound quite predictable.
• Sometimes, the series finds it hard to determine which approach it should take—whether to remain a true prequel or start anew.
