Tumbbad re-release box office collection day 1: Rahi Anil Barve directed 2018’s critically acclaimed folk-horror film “Tumbbad,” re-released yesterday, on September 13th, against Kareena Kpoor Khan, featuring crime thriller “The Buckingham Murders.” Despite the re-release, the iconic film was opened with a handsome Rs. 1.65 Cr net in India, which is more than double from its opening day collection of the original release (Rs 0.65 Cr).

As per the film critic and business analyst Taran Adarsh Twitter report, the Sohum Shah’s horror film generates a handsome score of Rs 1.65 Cr net, which is around 57% higher than Kareena Kapoor Khan’s crime thriller The Buckingham Murders’s opening day score of Rs 1.05 Cr net.
The veteran business analyst also added that: “When #Tumbbad first hit theatres in 2018, it had collected 65 lakhs on Friday, 1.15 cr on Saturday and 1.45 cr on Sunday.
In a remarkable twist, the film delivers a big surprise by collecting a significantly higher amount on its re-release Friday.
The tremendous love and goodwill that #Tumbbad has garnered over the years, combined with affordable ticket prices, have significantly contributed to its success.”
