Today, on 23rd September (Monday), the Film Federation of India officially announced on Monday that the unique content-based comedy drama Laapataa Ladies was chosen from 29 films, which actually the film deserves. Assamese director Jahnu Barua led a 13-member committee that took this decision, with the committee unanimously selecting the film for the category of Best International Film at the 97th Academy Awards.

The Hindi comedy drama film was helmed by Kiran Rao, story penned by Biplab Goswami, screenplay & dialogues penned by Sneha Desai, additional dialogues by Divyanidhi Sharma, and backed by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, & Jayoti Deshpande. Stars who are ensemble with the venture are Nitanshi Goel, Sparsh Shrivastava, Prabha Ranta, Abhay Dubey, Chhaya Kadam, Ravi Kishan, and others.
