Before that, he was rushed to Manipal Hospital, where doctors attempted CPR for nearly 45 minutes.
The news of his passing was confirmed by his son, Malhar Patekar. The Maharashtra state government decides to hold a state funeral to honor the legendary icon.

Dr. Shekhar Salkar, Chief of the Oncology Department at Manipal Hospital, discloses to the news about the circumstances and also notes that a medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered. His statement also indicates a post-mortem examination.
Dr. Shekhar stated to the reporter, “Veteran actor Nana Patekar passed away at 5:20 AM today after suffering a severe cardiac arrest at his residence. He was brought to the hospital in an unresponsive state at around 4:20 AM. Despite 45 minutes of continuous CPR, he could not be revived. A medico-legal case (MLC) has been registered, and a post-mortem will be conducted.”
