Emergency Movie Twitter Review: After many times being postponed, finally Kangana Ranaut‘s second directorial film, “Emergency,” debuted in the theatres today, 17 January 2025, under the banners of Manikarnika Films and Zed Studios. Stars teamed up with the film are Ranaut in the lead role, alongside Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman, and Satish Kaushik.
The historical drama is based on the darkest chapter of Independent India, 21 months of State Emergency, from 1975 to 1977, declared by that time Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. #Emergency is a film that shines largely due to #KanganaRanaut’s phenomenal performance as Indira Gandhi. She masterfully captures the late leader’s mannerisms, voice, and appearance, delivering a portrayal that feels authentic and compelling.
While the film has some pacing issues, Kangana, who also directed, deserves credit for presenting historical events with accuracy. The scale and mounting of the movie deserves full marks .
The supporting cast, including #AnupamKher and #ShreyasTalpade, added depth and strength to the narrative.
However, the film does suffer from noticeable cuts made by the CBFC. Some key scenes feel abruptly edited, which affects the flow and impact of the story, film could have been even more powerful if the original version had been allowed to release.
Despite these flaws, Emergency is a decent watch. It offers an honest portrayal of #IndiraGandhi’s life and sheds light on an important chapter in India’s history.

After a long time saw a good Biopic.The film completely gives a respect to Indira http://Gandhi.It depicts her sacrifices and mistakes and Cleary portrays her a strong leader. #KanganaRanaut is exceptional
