“Mirzapur: The Movie“, directed by Gurmmeet Singh, is the adaptation of 2018 Prime Video’s popular web series of the same name, which finally arrived in theatres today, on September 4, 2026. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, the action crime thriller turns from an acclaimed OTT saga to a masterpiece entertainer.
Mirzapur The Movie Storyline Overview
‘Mirzapur The movie’ plot follows a similar theme of the power-hungry, set between Episodes 6 and 7 of the first season. The King of Mirzapur, Akhandanand Tripathi, aka Kaleen Bhaiyya (Pankaj Tripathi), continues his dominance.
His son Phoolchand Tripathi, aka Munna (Divyenndu), is the key attraction. He has high ambition to lead the throne and establish his own supremacy, but his hunger for power is the reason Kaleen Bhaiyya has little faith in his son. As Kaleen Bhaiyya quoted, “The throne can neither be inherited nor owned through politics; it’s won through sheer power.”
Kaleen Bhaiyya has impressed with the ability of Guddu (Ali Fazal) and Bablu (Jitendra Kumar), as both of them have the potential to take the businesses to another level. Kaleen Bhaiyya faces pressure due to J. P. Yadav (Pramod Pathak) pushing him for the upcoming election funds. After the entry of a Jaisalmer-based businessman, Babban Yadav (Ravi Kishan), the story takes a vital turn, as he wants to eliminate the king of Mirzapur. What will happen next?
